As part of our commitment to the local community, Urgent Care 24 has become one of the business partners of the Volition Project based at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. The project aims to enable individuals who face particular barriers to employment or who have been unemployed for a significant period of time to get back into work.
Liverpool Cathedral provides opportunities for cohorts of individuals to volunteer under the supervision of mentors alongside receiving a programme of training delivered by a local educational body over a period of 10 weeks. The training and mentoring includes working on confidence building, interview technique and writing a CV.
Alongside this training, we, as one of the business partners supporting the project:
- Make the Cathedral aware of jobs which are being advertised so that they can assess whether any of their current or previous (and still not working) scheme participants are appropriately skilled for those jobs. Any suitable candidates are referred for a guaranteed an interview. The individuals know they are entering into a competitive process and, whilst they are guaranteed an interview, they are not guaranteed to be appointed;
- Undertake mock interviews and provide feedback to interviewees as part of their development.
